How do I shorten a plank or a tile?

The last floor panel of each row is often too long. That panel must then be shortened. This can be done in various way: sawing or cutting.

Floorify floors can be cut to size with the help of an electric saw or a handsaw. To do this, markt the cutting line on the floor panel with a pencil or a marker and neatly cut the desired piece on the line.

You can cut Floorify floors to size with a laminate cutter. To do this, mark the cutting line on the floor panel with a pencil or a marker and cut the desired piece to size.

Floorify floors can be cut to size with the help of a knife (Stanley). Use safety gloves for this. Lay the floor panel with the decor side up. Cut along a guide (square, bar or other floor panel) a few times in the top layer, creating a deep scratch. Then carefully break off the floor panel on the cutting line (as you would do with a drywall). This gives a neat cut without 'flakes'.

The big advantage of the latter method is that you don't make any dust: less cleaning up afterwards. And no disturbing noise from a sawing machine.

Is the piece to be cut off too small? Then use pliers as a lever.

With the help of a hole drill you can drill a hole (necessary for installation around heating elements). You can easily saw small pieces or whimsical shapes with a jigsaw. Use a saw blade for metal or trespa for this.
