How should you finish a vinyl floor at a large window?
A gluedown vinyl floor requires a different approach than a click vinyl floor when finishing near large windows. Below, we explain how to properly finish both types:
For Clickvinyl:
The Floorify end profile is the perfect solution for finishing the floor against a low window, sliding frame or stairs. The end profile ensures a subtle, flat finish for the floor and guarantees the prescribed expansion joint. Available in the same colour as your floor.
That way, you can make sure that there is a 5 mm expansion joint and a nice aesthetically appealing finish. It also provides reinforcement when walking in and out through a sliding frame.

All vinyl floors have skirtings and profiles in the appropriate colour and finish to match your chosen vinyl floor. Floorify skirtings and profiles are available from all dealers.
For gluedown vinyl:
Finishing a gluedown vinyl floor near a large window is no problem at all. Because the floor is fully adhered to the subfloor, it is virtually unaffected by expansion or shrinkage due to temperature changes. This means you can install the floor flush against the window frame, without the need for an expansion gap.
For a clean and durable finish, you may choose to seal the edge with an elastic joint, such as silicone in a colour that matches the floor or window frame. This helps prevent dirt or moisture from getting into the joint, especially near windows that are often open or prone to condensation.
