Can you install a vinyl floor on an existing floor with underfloor heating?

Floorify and underfloor heating are certainly a match! A vinyl floor really comes into its own when combined with underfloor heating. Vinyl floors from Floorify are extremely thin and have very low thermal resistance (R value). This makes them ideal for use in combination with underfloor heating. There are a number of conditions to take into account.

What should i watch out for?

Floorify floors can be installed on a screed with traditional water-based underfloor heating and/or with thermostat-controlled electric underfloor heating systems embedded in the screed or in a minimum 9 mm levelling layer.

Pay attention to the maximum surface temperature of the floor:

  • 29 °C for click floors

  • 27 °C for gluedown floors

For click floors, the room temperature must remain constant between 18°C and 25°C during installation and for at least 24 hours afterwards. After installation, the underfloor heating can be gradually increased by a maximum of 5°C per day until the desired room temperature is reached.

For gluedown floors, the underfloor heating system must be switched off at least 48 hours before installation, to ensure the adhesive can bond properly.

👉 Always avoid sudden temperature changes — this helps the floor retain its shape and beauty for years to come.

📌 Always check the compatibility of your heating or cooling system in the manufacturer’s instructions.
