Can you install a vinyl floor on an existing vinyl floor?

If the vinyl floor has been installed floating, it is best to remove it. Both Floorify click floors and gluedown floors require a sound subfloor. Click floors need a flat, non-resilient surface to function properly. Placing two floating floors on top of each other leads to a lack of stability and firmness. For gluedown floors, this is even more critical: they must be fully adhered to a fixed, non-floating subfloor. A floating base is absolutely unsuitable in this case. This increases the risk of damage or loosening and is therefore not a suitable foundation for a new floor.

If the vinyl floor has been glued, it can remain in place. Note that the floor must be level and firm throughout. It is also important that the surface is stable and sturdy.
