What is the black insert on the short edge of the tile?

Tiles with a thickness of 5.5 mm and a fold-down system have a black insert in the groove along the short edge. This insert is essential for the vertical locking between two tiles.

If the insert falls out of the groove, it can easily be put back into place. Make sure that the small dots on one side of the insert are facing upwards. Otherwise, the click connection will not close properly.

If necessary, the insert can be cut to size. Make sure to maintain a maximum distance of 5 mm between two inserts and between an insert and the edge of the tile.

If the cutting line runs through the insert, check after cutting that the remaining part is still correctly positioned in the groove.

If the black insert is missing or damaged, replace it with another one. Do not use the tile if no intact and correctly positioned insert is present.
