What if there are uneven surfaces?

Slight undulations or minor irregularities can be bridged when installing click floors thanks to Floorify floors in combination with the Floorify Comfort underlay. However, extreme roughness and unevenness in the subfloor can lead to an uneven surface, causing accelerated wear of the floor or the click system.

For gluedown floors (dryback), a perfectly level subfloor is even more important, as the floor is glued directly. Any irregularity can show through and negatively affect the final result. Levelling the subfloor is often necessary.

Attention points for click floors:

  • No height differences of more than 5 mm over 2 running meters.

  • No joints or grooves wider than 5 mm and/or deeper than 4 mm.

  • The subfloor must be level, stable, clean, dry, and non-resilient.

  • Remove all traces of glue, plaster, paint, oil, or grease.

Attention points for gluedown floors:

  • No height differences of more than 3 mm over 2 meters and 1 mm over 20 cm.

  • All dents, grooves or irregularities must be levelled.

  • The subfloor must be perfectly level, hard, firm, clean, and dry.

  • Gluedown floors must never be installed on soft, resilient, or floating subfloors.

  • Also here: remove all traces of glue, plaster, paint, oil, or grease.
